It has become our favourite working day of the year – our annual visit to the LauraLynn Children’s Hospice to make our donation on behalf of our customers. For the period 2019, we have been able to donate €6040.00 based on the sales of our baby thank you cards and we are just delighted how our association is benefitting such a brilliant Irish children’s charity.

As we approach the end of a trading year, our thoughts and hopes turn to our sales figures and we calculate how much money has been raised via our customers donations to the LauraLynn Children’s Hospice. For the period 2018 we were quietly hoping to reach in or around €4,200 which would have seen us hitting the milestone of €10,000.00 in donations since we began our association in April 2016.

Our association with LauraLynn is very important to us as a business. We know from speaking with customers that they love the fact that a few euro from their order is donated to Ireland’s only children hospice. We only began our association in April 2016 and in the first 8 months we were able to make a donation of €2,075 which was a terrific effort thanks to all of our customers. So 2017 was our first full year with our formal arrangement and it was just a massive thrill to be able to write a cheque to LauraLynn for the business period Jan-Dec 2017 for a massive €3,720.00.

Our Top Five Tips for Taking Better Baby Photographs

1. Let There Be Light

Photography is all about light. Get this bit right and you are almost there. When it comes to cameras, they deal with light in a different way to our eyes. What may appear to be good light to our eyes may not be the same for your average camera and certainly will not be for a camera phone.

LauraLynn are a well known charity within Ireland. For those that are less familiar with the name – they are Ireland’s ONLY children’s hospice and are dedicated to ensuring that all children with life-limiting conditions can make the most of every moment they have with their families.

We knew when we started our business in the Winter of 2015 that we wanted to be associated with a charity. Greeting cards and charities make a good partnership, although we tend to see such associations mainly with Christmas Cards and not other types of greeting cards.

Our original ‘featured name’ set of baby thank you cards have been really popular so we thought it about time to offer a new design with the same concept. The ‘featured name’ cards differ from our standard cards by showing your baby’s first name in a larger and more graphic style. The new design has a girls and boys version and comes in the C6 size (153mm x 108mm).

The simple things in life are best! We have introduced four new baby thank you card designs which are essentially the same layout with portrait and landscape orientated options available for boys and girls.

These lovely cards could not be simpler in design with the baby photo being the main graphical element. A simple ribbon makes room for your baby’s name with the ‘thank you’ sentiment message ‘ghosted’ into the background of the card.

We are delighted to launch our new range of baby thank you cards called ‘Featured Name’ this week. The cards are C6 in size (153mm x 108mm) which is different from our usual square format.

As the name suggests, these card templates make a feature of  your baby’s name with a colourful and fun illustration on the front directly underneath the main personalised photograph.
